Any word on the 0% loading bug after disconnecting?

    Technical question

Normally it's not too big a deal, if you get disconnected while in town or such you just reload the game and you don't have to worry about it - but it's actually a big problem when doing dungeons and stuff, reconnecting just fine to your current floor but then never loading past 0% when you try to zone to the next floor.

Somehow this issue has eluded my attention. I'll look into it.

It wouldn't even equalise the economy. People already know the best areas to farm and where the popular items drop. That isn't something that would change with this. What will happen is people will just gravitate to the same farms and speedclears but doing it quicker to try and personally benefit.

The population that would want to do something like this is also tiny, if anyone did move over then then I doubt people still wouldn't play Prophecies or do unecesary missions etc. as they would want to end-game as quick as possible.

If the main reason for this is to play the game with other people, then the best thing to do is seek out the people and not try and force a new game mode which will be under-populated.

For example: a group has setup a Discord server for players that wanted to find others and more importantly a schedule to be able to play through campaigns. This has worked very well and become very popular. This is different than just joining a highly populated Guild because the likelyhood of still finding players at the same position in the game is small.

Buying a new account and not going to Kamadan almost has same effect.

There are a lot of people enjoying playing the game back through with no items or money traded down to new characters so that’s happening too.

What reason would there need to be a ‘market’ reset other than to try and make money in a new market.

Lexx I saw your post on Reddit:

Does this mean the some of the text that is currently being spammed in outposts is not detecable by the ChatFilter? I've tried updating my file but I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong as the messages still appear in-game.

The arenas aren't required to max your cartographer so mapping them seems pointless, I could see why people purposfully queuing not to fight would trigger some kind of manipulation script on Anets side which is a shame and must have been very annoying!

Getting low level characters into PvP arenas could be interesting though.. specially if they go to the effort of unlocking skills available in other campaigns while keeping their level low enough to compete in the arena.

edit1: I just realised that with tomes that makes that very easy too. ^^

    edit2: armour though.

Hi, I replied to a post about Factions on this topic too, and I don't want to take away from what you want to organise AT ALL. Just to say that there is an existing Discord server where exactly this kind of play-through is being organised across NA and EU, along with others from other timezones.

You could jump on and offer to organise your own slot, there are already lists of people that are willing/waiting to play with others.

It is a good place to get in contact with others looking to play through the game together, all levels of experience are OK.

You'll find more info in the Discord: https://discord.gg/Nnb7E9h

    Hi everyone,

    • Some players may be experiencing network issues while trying to login to Guild Wars, as they may have authentication set up on their account and it locked them out of the game. If you’re affected by this, we added in yesterday’s last update a modal dialog to enter the two factor authentication code for your login session. You can also try to authorize your network the following way:
    • Check the e-mail to your registered address, or an SMS, or a security code on your mobile authentication app. You should have received an authentication code that needs to be confirmed at https://account.arena.net/security/settings
As you attempt to log into the website, you will find the system requesting you confirm your log-in. Please use the most recent code you received. Once you’re logged in, confirm your network there. You will then be able to log into the game
Please also note that you will need to follow these steps each time you attempt to login from a new network address
    • If none of those solutions work for you, please contact our Customer Support at https://help.guildwars2.com Provide as much information as you can so that agents can process your request as efficiently as possible.

There are some really nice things included here.

No longer necessary for two people to open the gate in Pre! (No need for the gate bot).

    The FoV slider is impressive!

Timestamp in the chat! Although it would be nicer to have it in 24H not 12H time.

Chat not clearing when you change character/map is pretty cool too.

    Graphics

    • Added an Ultra shadow setting. Doubles the distance, doubles the resolution, and quadruples the amount of dynamic shadows.
    • The fog/haze when using the Advanced graphics options has been slightly modified.
    • The game client restarts properly into Windowed Fullscreen when switching from Fullscreen to Windowed Fullscreen.

    General

    • Performed server maintenance.
    • The loading screen fade has been sped up slightly.
    • The game client will no longer increase CPU usage while in the background.
      • This also improves the -fps option CPU usage.
    • The installer has been improved when uninstalling and reinstalling to another location.
    • The Lakeside County gate to the Northlands will stay open twice as long when its lever is activated.

    Camera

    • Added a new Field of View slider.
    • Field of View now uses a vertical calculation—previously diagonal—which will result in a much better view of the world on widescreen and ultra widescreen monitors. The old Field of View can be reenabled by using the new -oldfov command line argument.
    • Added a rotation speed slider.
    • Slightly increased the responsiveness of camera rotation.
    • The camera maximum zoom-out distance has been slightly increased.

    Chat

    • Added an option to show chat timestamps for chat log entries.
    • Whispers will no longer be lost while loading maps or switching characters.
    • The chat log history has been doubled.
    • The chat log will no longer clear on map change or switching characters.

    Two-Factor Authentication

    • Displays correct error when trying to log in from an unauthorized network.
    • Command line parameters "-newauth" and "-oldauth" are now ignored.

User Bugs/Problems reported from this update:

    • User options with settings and layout are resetting to default after first login.
      • Solved by a hot-fix applied to the same patch.
      • Game update June 6 2018
      • Fixed a bug that would result in UI customizations and keybindings to be reset to defaults.
    • Error 242, 244,
      • pgKIiCM.png
      • Two Factor Authentication: added a dialog window in the login screen to
enter the two factor authentication code for your login session.

Please provide any solutions if known.

Come up with a new boss/creature idea along with skill template and stats for a weapon/item drop. Doesn't have to be an art competiton, just build/stats, but art could be a component.

edit: my thought was a bit like the old weapon design contest.

It’s worth keeping in mind that toolbox has evolved quite a lot since guru went down, with a lot of powerful new features which wouldn’t have been present when those statements were made. Any comments made back then by Anet staff are likely out of date now and so not relevant. We could do with a bit more of their current thinking rather than out-dated opinions. The question of where the line needs to be drawn should be considered carefully.

I was looking for their more direct responces for texmod, Umod, GWMultilaunch, GWDressup, KSMod etc. If my memory serves, and I hope it does, they said all of those were OK to use in their itteration at the time, with the obvious warnings that come with downloading any 3rd party application.

I don't believe any comments have previously been made about toolbox, I'd even go as far as to say there still haven't been any comments made to date. Gaile's is a corporate reply to any question about game modification, not specifically aimed at toolbox.

I think this is a much better quote to take about GWToolbox++

    From Anet DrStephenCW on Reddit:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars/co…oolbox/dzl9vak/

    Quote

I have a running copy of Toolbox built from the source code, and in my copious free time I'll look at it and give very specific feedback.

Not EVERYTHING that gives an advantage is expressly disallowed, see texture modifications texmod/Umod. The cartographer modifications give a HUGE advantage, I'd say even more than an autoclicker in terms of completing titles.

I agree comparing something as feature packed and technical as toolbox to an autoclicker isn't the best. However I don't expect Gaile Gray to have the knowledge required about GW mods at this stage.

I'm trying to track down some non generic replies from Anet in the Guru archive but that will take some time. The generic responces (including an original one from Gaile) are actually better than Gaile's latest one:

    https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Player-ma…s_from_ArenaNet

Player modifications/QoL bots at this stage is something that is really interesting in the sense keeping the game alive and giving new ways to experience it. However I'm much more interested in keeping access to my account therefore unless Anet have signed off on a specific mod I wouldn't use it despite the growing number of people that use it without any action (and there may never be any).

If they banned anyone that has ever used toolbox then I think it would have a huge impact on the playerbase of the game, I expect a lot of people would abandon it there and then.

Did anyone watch it Live ?

    How was it ?

    I coulden't be there..

It was a bit odd in reality. They did Nightfall as it relates to the recent GW2 content. Joe Kimmes and Elisabeth Cardy played as A/W and E/Mo respectively.

Started in Jokanur Diggings doing the mission and just explaining a bit about GW mechanics.

Then they jumpped up to Vabbi and did a bit in some explorables attempting to vanquish.

Moved to the Realm of Torment and did some stuff there.

They were accepting team members from PUG in the explorables which made for a bit of an odd experience and combo of teams, it also meant that what they were doing did exactly go according to plan. For example in Vabbi they were supposed to VQ but another kept running them through portals to towns or other explorables.

It was also a fairly short stream considering it could have been so much more and covering the 13yr anniversary of the Prophecies release. I think they clearly wanted to try and link it to GW2 as much as possible.

Curse has always been something that has flown under the radar for me as my only MMO game ever was GW but they seem to be most active for other games.
Their application similar to Discord seemed interesting but they must have something going for them to be acquired by Twitch (which is owned by Amazon iirc).
Are they into that kind of client chat resource or is it more fan websites and forums, wikis etc?

I wonder what new avenue it leads to for them or if they are just letting them continue to operate as normal.

This story is quite shocking and so is the response from Arena Net.

I doubt that they will do anything to change GW1 such as introduce some new security procedue, but some acknowledgement of their failed CS and that they are doing something to improve the process of staff would go a long way to making GW1 players feel safer. In particular if this happens to other accounts with less visible profile.

I wonder what happened to that poor CS agent that didn't follow procedure..

If this community is going to grow it needs to be in its own merit. Not by trying to get people in from another forum.

Already the only active part of both forums is really the trading. Where it's been expected for cosyfiep to take on new moderation duties which I think span two sites. I'm sure you're fine with it cosyfiep but I imagine it is still extra hassle and work same if people cross post their sell threads to both places.

Guru had a flutter of activity when it was mentioned it was going to close. There haven't really been any useful threads outside of trading for some time. Yes the collectors and traders show off their accomplishments but otherwise there isn't really much to discuss that hasn't already been said.

I don't have an answer just wondering if a large forum is what the game and community needs, if so then how can this one be of a benefit to the community over Guru2 if you want people to use this site instead/as well.

I have seen Reddit GW subreddit be more active in the last few weeks than either Guru2 or Legacy with people posting or discussing things.

What was the plan with Legacy. Was it just 'Guru is closing and we don't want to use Guru2 so here's a forum' or is there a more long term vision?

I think the game and community could benefit from some way to help people find others to play similar content with. It is all too easy to auto move through the game with Heroes now that unless people are put front and centre with others they won't bother, and people are attached to their Guilds and don't necessarily want to move even after the Guild is very inactive.

Just my thoughts, Legacy certainly has the freedom over Guru2 to be anything.
