Mercs will prevent you from needing to unlock heros 1 by 1 for every new character. Which can be very annoying. You cant use them right away but very quickly. Can access Registrar in KC, LA, Gtob, Kama and eotn. After doing this once they are available for the character. If you want more than 3 mesmers in the team you 100% need mercs.

all low q max shields with insc slots are keepers. Blues/purps about 20e/ea golds about 2a The rest is merch imo
