Hello all! I'm thinking on returning to the game for a bit due to taking a break from WoW before I jump into subscribing to another game. I would like to know if it's worth returning to the game as I enjoyed it before I jumped ship to GW2 and to other games? Also, would like to know if it's still active and has a helpful environment? I know the years has been ups and downs for the game due to GW2 and opinions but without a doubt GW1 still is better imo; better than GW2. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions on if it's worth returning to for the time being or a waste of time; Thak you :D!

GW is better than GW2 and better than WoW, so any time you spend in GW is not wasted.
you will regret ever playing anything else and even worse paying for subscriptions to those inferior games

its a steady playerbase and i would say not as low as during the early gw2 days

what's there to lose? There is no subscription fee, the game is still active enough, and we are coming up on the 20th anniversary.

PVP is mostly dead, JQ and HA is full of bots, still playable
PVE is still active, loads of people trade in kamadan (crazy inflation for high-end stuff), bots fill the game with consumables, regular gameplay stuff like materials and mods are cheap
Still some good guilds active, and you will get invites in no time
The game goes on sale a few times a year, next sale may be during anniversary. I think the game is still enjoyable as always

PvP sure it’s dead if you don’t know where to look, I get certain aspects of pvp though. It still has its moments of actual pvp. FA, RA, GvG, 1v1s.
PvE I’m not sure how that relates to kamadan as kamadan should not, and never should be correlated to PvE. PvE is alive and well if you seek it, there’s actually tons of fun stuff to do if you ask around and make friends to play with. A guild helps but there’s tons walking around the game interested in fun stuff.
Anyways have fun, it’s a wonderful game and most everybody is willing to help you if need be outside of the collectors world. Best place to start is Ironman, that has been the most unedited form of the game thus far for me and makes every drop exciting(as someone who has a nice collection on my main character).

I was not being sarcastic. I genuinely think the game IS enjoyable as alwaysBots and spammers have been around for quite a while, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the game

GW1 is still worth it. Economy is controlled by botters but theres still plenty of fun stuff to do
