Man, I just feel sorry for all the people who lost something today. You are the first of us to have a game mechanic, drop table, or items stats change.
Good news, you’ll always have your mini. And a story… looks like you got something after all.

Already happened years ago with vizu, oni, naga and zhed minis
They should've added these minis as ultra rare account bound drops from end chests of their respective dungeons to both encourage people to keep running the content, and to perceive atleast a sliver of their former status. Just one deep run to obtain, what was once, the rarest and most prestigious miniature in the game feels plain wrong.
I've always cared very little for miniatures but imo they did em dirty with this implementation.

With that implementation, It will support botting and account selling through black market. These quests seems easy but hey it’s a 20 year game. They had time to flex
why people thing of it as flexing, the conversation is about the rewards of doing something. if i get paid with a minimum of work i would just do the minimum. So the problem is no one will go on further than one run for the pet and thats it, that helps no one. at least not to keep the game alive. If you never tried geting one befor why you need it know there was a couple ways to get them not only by rmt. but what sense has a game wich is done within a few minutes. and the list of that problem goes on. sure returning players wich will play the event have fun with it. but that does not reward a majority of players wich stayed over the years and tried to get der collection going.
Just generell thougths. But for the most players i talked to wich was mostly players howe played the last few years are not the biggest fan of the change. regarding they had a mini or not.

Regarding minimum work done, I guess you might exactly fall in that category : your threads on that well known shady site, buying and selling limited minis and arms since late 2023.
I guess you didn’t take the non RMT route
As a firm, Anet is looking for a surge of returning or new players to get cash through selling 20th anniversary bundles, panels, mat’s expansions, mercenary heroes and more. They won’t get any cash from the black market so they don’t care going that route.
If the community you talked with is linked to high end trades during the the last decade they certainly used their credit card (even if a few had not) so I get that they’re not fans of the update.
General thoughts:
1) Anet is looking to please the crowd and not the small community that has been here for decades. Even the smaller community, that was here for decades but still haven’t enough ingame currency to spend 1750+ arms into a mini, will be glad to work on these quests if they’re interested in minis.
2) tradable limited minis will still hold value as their pool hasn’t reduced or grown (not like 7th birthday) and you can’t trade new ones. Maybe they will be a lot cheaper because there will be less buyers or scalpers. That’s why I talk about flexing because you can’t tell if it’s a tradable one or not in town but as a collector, you know that you have that limited miniature.
Best regards

I wish the limited minis were close to 1750a, that would be achievable through a lot of work but when prices were 10ka + and constantly rising it felt impossible. I'm really happy with the update and I hope that after the initial rage people can just appreciate that we got anything in a game that's 20 years old

never said i was not jusing all routes or options. if you want something you have to do what you need to do for it lol, like in reality.
Sure Methode depends on Personal preference. And i will never recommend anything i do or what works for me.
If you know the sites benefits you know there are some different Middelmann services you get there, so sometimes its wise to place a trade on there.
Noted that most of the stuff went for arms not cash if you would kindly track my legacy list aswell. And i did not sell stuff for financial support or benefits, in effect most trade where up trade for higher rarity and i still hold my high and petz.

just make them non tradeable but dropping from chests - you need to earn it not just be given it, now everyone and their mother in law just pays 10a for a deep run and gets a kanaxi - and now the one thing that made people want it the exclusivity - is gone and effectively it joins the ranks with the other trash minis.

I really don't think anet thought it through or they just went with their gw2 mentality when it came to minis.
Next update is to make armbraces untradeable and the economy will automatically regulate itself to the appropriate value like it was in 2010.

wtb q8 15^50 gladius full trade window of kuunavangs!
Even though I am a 99% retired player, I'll chime in as one of the likely few owners of a rare minipet that didn't RMT or bot it and has seen this update. I've owned my Island Guardian (Fern for those of you who have not met him) for probably 10 years now. That means I've had 10 years more to play with my Island Guardian than you have with yours. We've been on adventures all over Tyria, Cantha, Elona, and the North.
Turning to the market for rare minis. I can only assume that last month, there was probably 20 buyers willing to throw away some stupid number of botted or RMT'ed armbraces or dollars for a Mini IG/Panda/Kanaxai/MKG for every 1 owner. And how many owners were selling them? Maybe a couple. But how many people who obtained the minis without RMT or botting were selling theirs? Probably zero. I don't see how this math has changed. Maybe short term, there will be a couple RMT'ers who are hitting the panic sell button, just like people did last week in the stock market. But once all that weak money is flushed out of the system and things stabilize, the supply side of the curve for these minis in tradeable form is going to be similar. There was no reason last month for anyone who owns a Mini IG/Panda/Kanaxai/MKG to sell it. There still isn't this week. Especially given that nothing was done to kill the underlying problem of botting and RMT which is driving the hyperinflation in this game.
Looking to the future. I hope if this update did one thing other than make some people happy, it introduces a little bit of nervousness into RMT'ers that any time your "investment" principle can be at risk. I await some day in the future when this same thing happens to rare tonics and weapons. I see no reason Anet keeps EL Reindeer tonics exclusive when they can add a quest over Wintersday and award an untradeable EL Reindeer tonic at the end. Or create a chest that drops any OS weapon skin at the end of some quest... I think I've heard of a similar chest before ;).
Happy travels. And remember, Guild Wars is a game. It's not real life. Guild Wars items are not investments.
2 are from the same guy
Josh or whatever his name is, the level 1 necro who also has Obba Inaste tonic
Actually.. those were from 3 different players. That was the last time anyone will have seen 3 OS, tradeable kanaxai’s shown together before the update was released the following day. RIP
For 2030 I see anet doing a final package release with new prophecies collectors edition with frog mini. Throw in factions collectors and nf collectors and eotn....

And Hopefully, the REAL Chimeric prism
Can chimeric prism only drop as s Focus offhand? Or for war and Ranger AS a shield?
And what would U build Up with the original chimeric prism?
Can chimeric prism only drop as s Focus offhand? Or for war and Ranger AS a shield?
according to current drop research, Chimeric Prism only drops as focus (requires caster attributes)
