How does A Net fix the Pre-Searing markets longterm?

  • They are trying but I'm pretty sure MMO-work is kinda new for these devs. Content is great, I enjoy it considering just the pure play-through of it. Markets are definitely cooked though q9 insc 5bd or less already.

  • O, don't get me wrong... I still love the game for its content... It's one of the few games out there with loads to offer from each campaign that are repeatable in many ways due to the different builds available.

But I also loved the old economy which allowed players to collect rare items thus building up a healthy market rather than just trashing most of the stuff we pick up these days... They might as well give us our req 9s up front and be done with it since there really isn't much use for most of the items we get as loot. O wait, there's already the /bonusitems for some...8o

I can understand why some players would use real world cash to buy arms for prenerf req 7/8s... They're the only things that remains sacred due to an unnecessary nerf and holding on to them reminds us of much better days when a player would spend days, weeks, or months just hoping for that perfect drop. Imagine getting a req 8 15^50 Longsword today, even if you have a couple in storage...:love::love:

They can bring things back and switch things around if they wanted to... It's already programmed into the system... Just plain can't be bothered since I doubt they even test or play the game at all unlike Gaile Gray, etc...

  • It all went wrong when Nightfall came out and inscribable items were first introduced and now it has filtered into pre... I feel the same way now as I felt back then at the end of 2006, item inscription slots should have been introduced in PvP and stayed in PvP arenas where it would be easy for new and old players/guilds to set their builds and team composition accordingly without having to make crazy purchases. Old school items can be bought later from PvE players or PvP players who find time, can farm or buy the skins they prefer thus maintaining a healthy economy.

Still not too late to scrub inscribable items from the PvE world, ANet... Which would establish a totally different gameplay, market as well as system of collection in the long term...

But then again, maybe the developers think that everyone having the same weapon type is good reward for players' dedication and loyalty...:/

    Not too late? wat ??

It's never too late...;) If they decide to scrub inscribable weapons from PvE with future updates, it'll just make such items rare and collectibles with most of the stuff over req 9 already trashed... Bot farming OS items will still be a problem but how many players are actually buying weapons from bots? And they are a problem anyways, with or without updates, nerfs, etc...

And if they do reintroduce prenerf r7/8, it'll still take a lot of farming to get a perfect unless drop rates are increased. It's all about tweaking the system and finding a balance. Let players work for their favourite or collectible loot instead of rolling bank accounts on arms... That's what gaming in GW is all about, at least from where I'm sitting...:/
