Is it sellable? I've seen it appear for crazy prices on the chat log, dunno if that's real or what.

It's a quest reward for a NF quest involving Koss.
It is not limited to NF characters.
I just got 1 on my rit the other day.
It is ridiculous what the prices are for 1 considering it's just a quest reward.
It would be akin to charging a stack of ectos for Bobo!

people tried to sell bobo as well on guru.
for the scythe, wiki says it can not be sold, dont know about traded (I have a bunch now on my mules and I think melonni on a few others).
there IS a green version: Mallyx's Savagery which can be sold, though doubtful that is what they are on about in spamdan.

The chat log is manipulated by scammers on a regular basis.
Never trust it completely.
This smells like precisely that.

Crazy, I didn't realize the chat could be manipulated.
People can say whatever they want in trade chat.
There is no proof a trade ever happens, but, Chat Log faithfully has it into decltype for future 'reference'.
It is a flawed system.
The can not be sold thing on banana scythe I think is just it has no value (0g) to the merch, I think u can trade them, but, not 100% positive.
It's a 10-10 dmg scythe like wintergreen but has no insc slot so pretty poor alternative to that... and a 8-16 or 8-17dmg insc no req will do better avg dps.

This a relatively common item, and has minimal use. As Looney mentioned, a Q0 insc 8-16 or 8-17 (very rare) is much more useful and valuable as well.

Banana Scythe is pretty easily sold for 2e-3e. Anything above that is ridiculous, imo.
