I love the thematic skins through the regions in gw. With new expansions new weapon types were intoduced that did not get continued on the older thematic themes in many cases. Some were lacking from the beginning to start with even... Here I want to gather a list of those sets and their missing skins as well as encourage everyone to bring their creative imagination into a picture as to how those mught look. I'd just leave this as a open thread for discussions, collaborations, contributions - be it sketches on paper, finalized artwork, photoshopped stuff, 3D prints, AI images or whichever you would come up with! I'd love to see some of these come to life. Maybe also an existing skin could match a gap - anything is possible on our minds

I'll start here the list of the ones that wiki let me easily summarize from this page: Weapon-family-galleries but I know it is far from complete. while writing it I already spotted oni and outcast missing - what a pity. Please comment so I can add any others that were skipped. Maybe Mr. Clean(-Value) can share some of his name correlations?!
Some may not make much sense due their respective thematic assignment - like for example an Oni would not wield a hammer in my head - but maybe others can imagine them and fix that gap in my mind

Some I tagged "meh" which do share part of their name, but do not share a design pattern, mostly because they were just things like ornate or aureate or the likes. Maybe with the new skins we can add some more... granite comes to mind...

this is sadly not os 20/20 - it just has an adept head and is a bugged insc - which isn't all that rare for a staff on insc territory. with q11 also not as collectibly desired so I might lean to salv adept and merch.

Mr. Clean(-Value) did you remove the insc with an exp salv kit or know the value of the staff without it? since max a isv insc can add is 75g and all gold items gold value is divisible by 4, so this one here could be at least 691g with a max insc.
from a different perspective I can tell that the treasure chests can generate items of at least up to 81g unid which would make for a max of 648g ident, so 700 is definitely possible WITH insc.

also there is some skins on npcs that can not drop - for example that one handed hammer thing on some weaponsmiths. also bmp or reward skins like deldrimor, imperial, envoy, ... or collector skins like norn/asuran axe/shield/etc, gemstone staff in moddable or os rng version would be dope. but I wouldn't want them to add too many else other skins would become incredibly much more unlikely to drop... I also like the armor idea!

I do entertain a collection of singlemod blues at max armor for req and have quite some to go with this - a -3/11, a prp 3wH, and 8/0 -1wS among others.
so I would add it to a collection - but free for everyone to bid ofc - no hard feelings (...maybe just a little :D)

there will be several ppl interested - list it for auction and give it some time. don't fall for pm offers.
I haven't seen one like it sold in looong time so giving an accurate pc is impossible. I'd expect 50a, potentially more, also 250a wouldn't seem out of the mind. just so you have at least a ballpark idea of how much "much" is.

1) exactly right - no benefit to have a lower requiremwnt as long as it is met. the lower req is more a thing of prestige.
2) I guess you are specifically asking for weapon damage builds - because else spellcasting builds would be an easy answer
for weapon builds you have illusory weaponry, that entirely replace your weapon damage, so the weapon attri is irrelevant. also other builds that mainly deal damage through skill damage from skills other than from the weapon attri. for example a warrior that brings strength skills to deliver the damage. if those are great... I think it is more about the joy of trying something different and good or not good might be situational.4) as foe amarket value - yes: youcan barely sell purple items even if they are q8 you will have amuch harder time selling and way less cash to expect. as for functionality it does not make any difference.

I dug up old perma sin build to farm gargoyles outaide nolani and many other things with whirling defense. with the new expertise mod you improve from 5 to 7 dmg and from 8 to 12s making for a total of 110% more damage. with dwarven stability you can cover the entire duration of sf, which is nice. ofc you could also main ranger and actually skill expertise... but it is neat and plenty enough to bring down an entire ball. also the boss can be done, but catching them in a bodyblock is a bit tricky.

on top I often use deaths charge to jump into the ball or cut long detours and IaU against cripple and kd. other viable options are finish him, ymlad, LoD.

no... your mainhand weapon suffix mod has to be the new profession mod - can't have defense simultaneously

btw what is the max gold value of a rare item?
488g can happen on some mobs, for the most part regular drops go as high as 456. on keyless chests in nf in theory at least 648 is possible, but it is insanely rare.

the age old question.... tower shield or defender. you brought the relevant arguments. also tower has a og vibe, defender is a bit prestigeous... but... why choose if you can have both? esp in your case make the perfect set: spatha+defender forked sword+tower shield. problem solved.
but ofc I can see a clearly dominant choice on the weapon... "THIS IS SPATHA!"
I will check if I could spare any of my 300g ones...

The warrior quote is meh since you can just put a Defense mod on your sword and it does the same.. sure if you want to have a wand there’s a take but a wand of the warrior ? I can see that on dervish running around in SC but that’s about it
the defense mod would fall under "bonus armor" and consequently be affected by the bonus armor cap, whilst shield base armor is considered core armor. but if not using armor skills/buffs - absolutely.

for the mod that won't matter at all. as long as you are in proph you will have the same chance.

energy hiding/high energy set became a big step more effective esp for melees: you can pair a wand of the ele with a q5 estor foc to get a total of +50energy from a weapon swap and even more if you use a 15/-5 inherent on your main set weapon. can be effective if you face a lot of ene drain and some longer expencive casts.
another one ar 5str shields for casters (or anyone for that matter) for an extra 5 armor to before plus no attri spending needed for just the shield plus supplying immunity for the armor buff to weakness or wail of doom (since the 5attr buffs are not affected).
the necromancer, assassin, paragon and ranger mods can be used for energy management.
so far for some concepts - I don't have much time for testing, but I liked playing war with assassin mod and some of the crit increasing skills.

a shield with +10skeleton will never have a shield handle, since skele mods only come oldschool. so there might be a second mod but you could never change it.
that said you would need to farm a spot that does drop gold shields in q5, which would be lvl12-16, ideally you'd aim for a lvl15. for a skeleton mod of course you are only looking at prophecies. a quick look through wiki yielded gypsie ettins in nebo terrasse as a potential one - there are several in a limited area, you sgould be able to somewhat efficiently farm them.
