I'm having issues as well. It just says invalid url for both a direct link to my avatar on gwauctions and also the same img on imgur. Is .png a supported filetype? It's under 25kb (19.5kb I think).
I've also had this issue! I resized the image several times to ensure it was small enough, but as Looney said I kept receiving invalid URL popup. Tried multiple different links to it aswell. It's a JPEG. Probably just my poor Forum skills!
I am still looking into this, everything seems to be OK on the server, so its a bit more searching for me.. I will keep you up to date here.
Can confirm, I also have issues with this.
To me the message states that: ''The URL you entered for your avatar does not appear to be valid. Please ensure you enter a valid URL.''
I have tried various servers and websites, but its pretty much the same message. The picture I have chosen is .jpg, about 5kb large and 64x64p in size.
As you can see from my now changed avatar, this should be fixed now (I had some time to tackle this issue properly with the server maintenance today)... Could you guys please all test this and let me know?

Uploaded to the site directly using chrome on android so it is even working on mobile devices

Kevin, sorry for the extreme delay, internet issues have put my home pc out of action for the past 2 months. All sorted now and so is my avatar! Thanks!
