What do the stars next to a name mean when someone posts?

My understanding it's a forum rank, tied to your post count. It's like on Guru except instead of/in addition to your forum title ("Adventurous Submitter" in your case) you get stars as well. Some user groups have fixed amounts, for example supermods (like myself) have six regardless of post count or any other factor.

I believe the highest it goes is 6, and you have to be staff or higher to get that many.

Max check your groups...one of them will give you 6 (it would also make you red like me and marty)

I have no stars, guess I don't post enough? Oh wait only 3 people posted more than me, so gimme stars xD?

Keitax has 6 stars, but last time I checked he wasnt a staff member. I'm getting Kevin into this haha. I'm just too curious.

Spoke with Kevin and the stars are linked to your post count and your post count title:

At the last title you get 6 stars. Since I am a staff member I have a different title group which does not give out stars .

Actually, the highest attainable one is 6 stars, and that takes you a ton of posts.
Only 4 members so far can show it, but it is a really cool one.

I stand corrected....it had been 6 for staff, now everyone can get 6!
