I will clarify my favor comment that it does not impact chest drops, but it does for sure impact Foe drops. I have done some extensive data collection comparing the same farms with and without favor and for sure, there is a difference in gold drops (not necessarily the quality of the goods, just more golds. I understand that not everyone believes this but that is fine, more golds for those that believe

My typical ritual before opening any chest is that I first drop my most valuable items in my inventory and equip bags next to the chest. I then kneel in front of the chest and count to 100. At this time I open the chest and it will fall within my dropped pile so for a very short period of time, I can believe that I just dropped a sweet item

This is certainly debatable topic. I generally try to do full map runs to get all chests just for the superstition that the one I don’t open is the q8 holy grail and if I don’t open it, my chances of another will start over.
There are a lot of factors (many mentioned above) that make this hard to prove as a chest doesn’t always appear upon zoning, but my thought here is that the chest spawn location has to be predetermined so that there are only so many chests on the map and that they are all outside of a specific distance from each other, as a result why wouldn’t the chest drop be predetermined?. There are chests that spawn with foe pop ups, Urgoz blood drinkers is one example. There are chests that spawn upon a kill, not as common but one example is killing Redwoods in Reed Bog. In addition, there are other possible triggers such as the chest that can spawn in Elona Reach mission when picking up the crystal that opens the gate in the back corner of the map.
With this all being said, it is currently individual opinions, I have always been under the impression that all drops, chests and foes are determined at the time of zoning into a map, but again, no hard proof.
Not to change the topic but here is a spin to this conversation. I have always had the question of when does favor impact the gold drop rate in a map. For example, if you enter a map during favor, favor ends, the increased gold rate appears to stay while you are in the map. That would mean it was predetermined. The opposite scenario can occur as well, if you are in a map without favor, and favor starts, does this impact the gold drops while in that zone? (Mind blowing)

Well ill be damned... i asked this exact question a few months ago on this forums... and got told mobs only... i feel like i wasted to much time...
I wouldn’t call it wasted time, you saved yourself a lot of lockpicks. I have done a lot of chest running in these areas and only got q9+, so the fact you got one from farming was a successful hunt in my opinion.

I will be closing the 1/2/21 Poll soon, however I am still in the need of new submissions for the next poll.
I have 2 items so far, would like at least 4 for each Poll.
I just want to take this opportunity to remind everyone to consider any item that you think would be spark any interest for any reason (Rarity, Value, Favorite Skin, Mod Type, Gold Value, Matching or subsequent numbers on an item etc.).
I also need to clarify a great question that came my way is that there is currently no limit of submissions per player. Since you can't predict which items you will get, feel free to submit as you get good ones. This will give the opportunity of keeping the Polls going.

Since this thread is commonly used to show recent drops of all sorts, I wanted to to share on here an attempt for something new on Legacy that is open for everyone to participate in for fun.
You may have already seen, but if not, in the General Section, there is a new Poll Thread that is intended for drops of 2021 (strictly new items dropped this year) to be put into a Poll and to be voted on by the Legacy Community, including yourself.
All of the information regarding the Poll, Voting, and Submitting an item to be entered in a future Poll is included in the following.

Hi all,
The first thing is I want to thank everyone who has participated in these Polls as either a Submitter or a Voter for the last 3 months.
As a result of a decreasing volume of submissions, I have decided that it is time to put these Polls to rest. I hope you have enjoyed these while they lasted. I want to apologize to those who have submitted items that never made it into Polls.
I put together the following stats to finalize the Favorite 2021 Drop Polls.

As part of this adventure into 2021 I decided to try something different.
This may be a big hit, may fizzle over time, or be an epic failure, but I am going to give it a go.
Purpose/Intent of Polls
The purpose of this thread is to give the GW Legacy Community the chance to showcase their 2021 drops and for other players to vote on their favorite 2021 drops. The goal is to continuously provide Polls throughout the year so the more submissions received from other players, the more Polls that will be available
I must stress that this Poll isn't "The Best" items by value or rarity, this is for players to chose which items they like among the options presented. The reason for this is that "the best" can be subjective and may create difference of opinions, versus "favorite" items will be purposely based on the opinions of those that chose to vote. This means that it is possible that a Q9 Eternal Blade could be beat out by an OS Item as a result of the voters.
There is no prizes at this time, this is for the fun of finding the community's favorite items and for bragging rights

- I will gather pictures of 2021 drops submitted from any interested/participating players
- I will create a Poll with options of items to choose from
- Time frame of a poll will be dependent on engagement and votes
- Names of the submitter will not be included until after a Poll is completed
- Upon the completion of a Poll, the winner will be announced
- A Poll may end in a tie resulting in 2 winners for one Poll
- A new Poll will be posted with new items
- After the completion of 4 Polls, the last 4 winners will be posted against each other for a "Favorite of the Favorites Poll"
- At the end of the year, the "Ultimate Favorite of the Favorites Poll" will be posted.
- This is to keep the voting based on the item and not to be based on the submitter

- Submitters can vote for their own item
- Votes cannot be changed
- The voter can choose an item that most interests them. This can be based on Rarity, Value, Favorite Skin, Mod Type, Gold Value, Matching or subsequent numbers on an item etc.

- Items cannot be a purchase, must be a drop
- Items of same stats cannot be a duplicate to one that was submitted in the past (I will be looking for duplicates as Submitters may not know)
- If the item is extremely rare, such as a q8 Dusk Blade +5e, a screenshot of the drop with a timestamp (desktop date) may be requested as....say it with me....Must be dropped in 2021
- Items with same stats but different requirement will be accepted (for example, if a q10 of an item is submitted, Q9 of the same item can still be submitted)

- Players can submit an item they think is a decent drop to be voted for against other items
- All submissions must be Private Messaged to me via Legacy
- A picture of the item must be included (not just description)
- If item comes in multiple skins, include the Skin Name
- Submissions will not be accepted as replies to this thread
- *New* There is currently no limit of submissions per player at this time.
Final Notes
- I may choose to hold an item for a future Poll depending on the number of submissions received
- Last case scenario, depending on the number of submissions, I may choose to omit an item if it doesn't typically have interest (for example a Q5 white 8Armor Wooden Buckler may not make the cut).

Just a tip since it wasn’t mentioned above, customized items like the Jade sword cannot be used by other players, as a result there is no value. Only the player it’s customized to and his/her heroes can use it.
I also Recommend to post the q7 Brute.

Agreed, for little guys, Dwarves certainly hit hard, especially in HM.
It would depend on where you are running (which I think I know where wink wink), but if all Summits for example, would go with the vs Dwarves shield.
Personally, I use vs Dwarves -2^Ench when chest running around Summits.
Keep in mind that Ice Golems are technically Summits as well.

Indeed, or any krytan chest drop with unid value 12 gold, regardless of whether that item is q3 itself.
Good point! Red Fireball is the keeper all of that wonderful data. I never got my hands on a copy of the unid gold values found per max item (other than Q8). Red will have a lot of reading to do when he gets back online

I didn't catch the wording mistake from Pleikki and even ditto'd as I understood what he meant, and always assume positive intent on a wording error as it isn't as malicious as sometimes things can be made out to be. Thank you Pleikki for updating the wording.
There isn't any other post for this discussion at this time as far as I know, it may be necessary to carve this out to keep this thread specific to Q8s, but it's a good topic nevertheless.
I agree that Q4 max golds do drop from Krytan chests, I have a few myself from there. However, I don't believe the chest is going to be level 12-14, maybe 13-14 as a Q3 gold max has never been confirmed here, although if a purple max q3 (other than staff as these have strange drop tables) can be proven to drop from Krytan Chest, a gold one can be probable. If this truly does become the case, it would be the only chest in the game that a gold q3 can drop but I skeptical until proven otherwise
So let's strap on our low level chest running geat and pay some Krytan chests a visit

Unfortunately Q3 golds can only be obtained by a drop from a lvl 12 foe, no chests.
