I'm a fan on those 7dmg axes! Not much information about them. According to GW gear stat ranges and thanks to Red Fireball they come with a maximum dmg of 7-21.
They are quite hard to get, dropping both inscr or OS from mobs around lvl 15 more or less. ( fastest place to get one is raptors NM ,but it might take a week if ur unlucky like me)

The 7-21 inscr. winged axe of O O O Yoji O O O was a drop of mine in snowman dungeon nm. If I knew about the interest in such items I should have asked for more than 50e

I once had a 7-21 15^50 tyrian cleaver drop from tengu in kryta. Think I even posted about it somewhere on here becuase I never seen one before and I thought it was bugged or something

Just to clarify the blue one that dropped for me was from a level 16 Maguuma spider on my way to kill Gale Stormsend for the quest Eye for Profit. I was playing a Channel Rit with a necro minion master hero
It seems i have many toons that skipped the jungle. I'm curious to see if the drops (if any) vary by profession

Ive done a couple of dozen runs in Jaya Bluffs, Ive had better drops( no 7-21 axes at all) from the tengu than i have from the Yeti so far

I agree regarding tengu skins and chances of golds, however this post was specifically about 7-21 axes, hence the yeti reference. Tengu is too low of a level to drop these.

Since info on these axes is limited, at least from the cursory efforts Ive made so far, what level mobs would you suggest are the sweet spot ?

I will lean on Red Fireball to share from a statistical collection perspective that will likely tell us all more, my experience/guess would be for purples or golds, level 15, this would match both the Mountain Yeti and Raptor Nestling that drop them from experience. The level would likely be a span, but I would guess that there is only one or 2 levels that can drop the lowest requirement which is Q5 7-21, since these can drop all the way up to Q9, higher levels likely drop them as well.
Keep in mind the drop tables for blue are different and I would imagine a higher level can drop a q5 7-21 blue insc, considering you can drop Q8 max blue insc items from very high levels.

I do not have lots of data on them, but indeed lvl 15 does drop them. axes with 7-xx damage I have observed in blue/white at 18-27g unid value, and purple/gold in 15-16g unid. that means for golds we'd be looking at lvl 10-15, best chances likely at lvl 14/15 and for blue/whites at lvl 11-18 with best chamces at lvl 16-18. I repeat that I do not have ton of data, but this will be the ballpark. give or take 2g and 1lvl
