Because people want the max dmg stat on their weapon, axes sadly doesn’t have that feature anymore along with many other weapons. Where swords still roll the max dmg as they did before the nerf. Now only gold value tells them apart and in some cases you cannot be sure if something is prenerf or not. Example if a weapon is fairly close to the gold value limit.
Lately some very desired sword skins has been for sale which is what you are comparing them to. If less desired ones come up they will probably only fetch between 150-500a still being max.
There is old prenerf axes out there which has potential to go far over 2500
+ in general swords hitting 15-22 vs a axe hitting 6-27 are far apart most swords will hit 15-21 as q8
Problem is. Since it's post nerf max it could have been dropped that dmg in the prenerf era as well. So it's basicly a 1 off. It's best compared to the 1 off swords these days. Price wise. And these sometimes go for a handful pinky globs.
Agent Chevy is an enjoyer of these sharp pieces. He has quite some high end skins q8 1 off swords even with +5en mod. He can assure you that these would be a fraction of the max stattet version. And so do the axes Wich basicly are 1 offs.

Congrats on finding any q8 6-27 +5e axes, those are pretty rare, however unfortunately they are still not extremely valuable, under 10a for those is about right in the market (sentimentally probably much more). I have 42 Q8 6-27 axes and only one is +5e (Grinning Dragon Axe). Most of the rest I dropped myself but for the ones I bought, I don't think I paid any more than 2a based on skin, which some people may think even that is crazy but just like anything else, a collector can pay whatever they want if the item fits.
Although Q8 6-27 is current day max, they are treated similar to Q8 15-21 swords (even though Q8 max swords can still drop).
These axes are similar to but not as common as Q8 18-34 hammers, Q8 14-27 bows, etc.
As a collector of "current day Q8's", I like that q8 6-27 axes are cheaper to purchase, however when I have a duplicate, I feel your pain on the value.
The majority of collector's want max items, which in the case of Q8 axe, it's the 6-28 that is the most desirable.
For the comment of comparing Q8 15-21 sword to Q8 15-22 sword value as an example, one of the more expensive Q8 15-21 swords I have purchased is the Elemental Sword, I believe was around 5a at the time, compare that to what the actual Q8 15-22 would sell for and 5a is a fraction.
I will also add that even something like this prenerf Q7 6-27 axe is not viewed as being as valuable as a Q8 6-28 axe which blows my mind.

There is also the matter of sword skins arguably looking aesthetically more appealing than most axe skins, especially in the case of a caster weapon.
Well said on most things, i think key factor is that q8 swords are absurbly rare to drop max, i never got gold one from tens of thousands chests and hundreds of hours of farming, while 6-27 q8 axes drop all the time, rarity wise i think its 1000 x more common.
After that comes the facts that ppl want max items and yadda yadda.
And on chevys point, i think q7 6-27 is more valuable than 6-28 with identical stats.. in many cases such as with your axe, only 15^50 and +5e could make difference with those, but again its cus axes even dropped q7 6-28 so 6-27 is "not max"
