How to rune an armor the right way ?

The question is a little large but to specify :

I want to do a new set of armor, is it better to put the +50 rune on the torso armor or somewhere else and why ?

The -20% cripple insignia, should i place it only on the feet part of the armor ? When i was doing GvG back in the days, a friend told me to place it only on the feet, that's where the cripple apply. Is it just a rumor or is there a reason ?

Same thing for the -20% blind insignia, should be put on the head right ?

Do you guys have few tips on runing/insignia the armors ? Maybe some rune placement/insignia placement combo are better than some others ?

The Rune does not need to be put on the piece of armor based on the body part you are trying to protect, no...

Blind can go anywhere, Cripple can go anywhere. These will effect your entire character.

It is often suggested to put on feet/hands/head:

1) if you're armor swapping for different uses they're the cheapest pieces or you're swapping your +attribute headpiece for a specific build that needs that Rune/Insignia.

2) armor is calculated by % of which piece would be hit with body->legs->head/arms/feet last.

3) asthetics of how you like your armor to be setup, if you want to keep for example Chaos Gloves but change the rest of your armor then you could put the most useful/wanted/expensive upgrades for your build on the gloves.

I was always told to put the superior absorption rune on the chest piece for warrior, because of the hit box size. idk if it's an old wives tale. but other than that the rune placement isn't so important. the +3 rune is usually placed on your headpiece because it stacks and makes more sense to swap these out for each attribute/build.

All runes have global effects. It doesn't matter where you put them, aside from the aforementioned cost/inventory concerns.

I always put vigor rune on boots so its easiest to find them.

I always put condition reduction runes on gloves so its easy to see if I have one equiped and which. Also cheap to make extra gloves, minus special ones of course.

So if you like any of the special gloves I would put vigor on them.

Make multiple copies of boots for you condition reduction runes to pair with those multiple off hands.

If you do that for every character and hero its easy to check them as it will be habit.

My chest piece is almost always a minor rune of an attribute that is always useful but wouldn't ever really be the backbone of a build. Fast casting, energy storage, soul reaping and so on.
