Guide: Using the gwbb tag to display builds and skills

  • Legacy Forum has a built in gwbb code displayer!

    It will display builds & skills like this:

    Build

    [build=OQYWETaWRkpuVFN9vANrfrYT7W]

    Skill

    [Fire Storm]

    The skills in individual and builds have a tooltip (hover-over) so you can see the name and details of the skill. You can also copy the build code from within a build post as well as see the primary and secondary professions.

    Guide

    The post toolbar has an icon just for this as well:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Build Code [OQYWETaWRkpuVFN9vANrfrYT7W]

    1. Copy the full build code to your clipboard. (OQYWETaWRkpuVFN9vANrfrYT7W)

    2. Press the 9bdAljT.png button or type out the gwbb [open] and [/close] tags as below

    2a. Use the following syntax:

    Code
    [gwbb][build=<buildcode>][/gwbb]

    3. Replace <buildcode> with what is on your clipboard so it looks like this:

    Code
    [gwbb][build=OQYWETaWRkpuVFN9vANrfrYT7W][/gwbb]

    4. Done! Finish and Submit your post.

    5. IMPORTANT! To display you need to refresh the page, this is a limitation of the script for the gwbb code, so after submitting make sure to refresh the page.

    Individual Skills [Fire Storm]

    1. Find the full name of the skill using the skill text or GWWiki. (Fire Storm)

    2. Press the 9bdAljT.png button or type out the gwbb [open] and [/close] tags as below

    2a. Use the following syntax:

    Code
    [gwbb][<skillname>][/gwbb]

    3. Replace <skillname> with the name of the skill so it looks like :

    Code
    [gwbb][Fire Storm][/gwbb]

    4. Done! Finish and Submit your post.

    5. IMPORTANT! To display you need to refresh the page, this is a limitation of the script for the gwbb code, so after submitting make sure to refresh the page.

    It's as simple as that! (Don't forget to refresh page after each submission/edit).

    I hope that helps with skill and build posts. Any questions or suggestions just ask.

  • Hello bsoltan, sorry I'd like to ask if it's possible to include the 10 PVE elite skills in the code displayer. Would love to maybe share some builds with them in the future.

    Here are the display tests

    Testing the build display:

    [Build=OQGjUymDKTxgAhYFXF9Yn1jYybA]

    Testing the skills display:

    [Heroic Refrain] [Over the Limit] [Fire Storm]

    Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you and all the other moderators keeping this forum running really smoothly.

  • Hi bsoltan sorry if this was asked before but I was wondering if it'd be possible to update the skill descriptions along with their updated energy costs, activation times etc. After 2weeks coming in and giving us 2 skill balance updates, the builds section of the forum fell a little bit behind...

  • Bluey  Kryth Builds

    Thanks for the comments & feedback. I think this feature is an old one added to the forum. I'll have to check with Iaerah on the method and possibility to update. If the database of skills is accessible to modify.

  • Hey all,

    I'm actively working on trying to update this - this feature was added almost 10 years ago and I'm figuring out how we can properly update the sources that are being used. The entire script also needs a thorough cleanup, so the answer here is that I'm trying to figure out how we can update this properly and keep it up to date with future updates.
