What level are you? I've been getting gold drops exclusively with lvl 18+ groups. Haven't seen a purp since my lvl 14 runs.

For Purple and Gold, it depends on all the members of the group, not just one, from what I understand. If a member's level is too low, the group don't get any gold. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I can more or less confirm this is true. I have been leveling my Warrior primarily within the Pre Dungeon. I started at Level 7 and am currently 13.
On a couple separate occasions, I have had party members of level 18 and 19.
Every time I had a party member join of high level, they got Purple drops.
Keep in mind, I have also seen golds (non-max) drop from the chest when our entire party was Lvl 8-10
So, you do still have a very slight chance of getting golds at lower levels, but even if you do I have yet to see a max drop.
Also, I did get a Purple item that dropped with a Gold Ascalon Horn summoning stone item.
Same run, a party member got a Purple item, XP Scroll, and Black dye all at once from the chest.
As far as actual hard data on what this chest drops......it's all over the board man

Pre searing drop - 300 GV

Finally got my first Pre Searing gold drop!
Running a Melandru Warrior using Axes, and I cannot lie....... I am not disappointed even the slightest bit!

Forgot to mention he is only level 13 and this dropped from Maz's Chest

I know this is nothing impressive, and I apologize for back to back posts on the thread.
BUT, I am starting to believe that Favor of the Gods affects drop rates in Maz's Chest.
This is now the second Gold drop in a row
Going to take a break to eat dinner and run again when I return.
Definitely going to be paying attention to drops with and without Favor being live.

P.S. My Warrior is still 13, this was literally the very next run after my last post.

I believe favor does increase the number of gold drops from a dungeon chest... I ran FT a few times last night and without favor, only 1 or none popped out from the chests, while with favor 2 players got gold. Also a note to self... Never, ever try to solo a dungeon when still on Dhumm mode...

Did another run today without favor and I got my first gold drop, while the others got purple:

Mmmm... I also forgot to pick up the dungeon quest so maybe that's why I got the gold...

Ps. Max dmg tends to occur from lvl 14+ and above

Had a req 11 Fire Staff as well earlier, and a Flame Artifact yesterday but without good mods. Guess I'll equip the req 13 Air Staff on Devona for her Ritualist build

Completed another 2 runs at lvl 16/17 and finally got some decent stuff, including a bow:

Got the shield earlier...

And a shortbow during the 2nd run That's three req 9s in a row

Not the greatest of stats but workable, and I'm learning to tank lvl 16/17 pretty well these days so up close and personal with the Charrs is mighty fine... (Probably not going to do it at lvl 18+ though...lol)

A party member was kind enough to donate a couple of req 13 bows for potential use and mods as well:

I'm good for req 13s, otherwise I shouldn't be a ranger but now I'm in a dilemma...

Been using a flatbow for a while now in pre and I can handle the misses... No interrupt skills so nothing to worry about there... the distance, making the bow great for pulls and with Read the Wind up, it packs quite a punch against Charr warriors.

On my post-searing ranger, it's all recurve and I enjoy the rapid fire mode with normal attacks but lower damage against warrior types.

O well, time to do a few tests while I continue farming for a salvage kit...

My long grind this week has paid off! Finally finished my treasure hunter title! I had 7,500 chests on my OG warrior that got hacked and deleted in 2008 before the title went account-wide. Not a bad haul, but I'd be happy to never see another raptor again in my life
