im not sure right now: was it even rare or meaningful to get q8 from the chest if its non-max?

trademeimfamous well depends on what you call rare and meaningful
if a chest dropped max dmg items and q8s it means it can drop (todays) max q8s... so there's to that. and it is not terribly rare - somewhere in between 1:50 and 1:100 drops are q8 on a lvl 20 chest - I'd have to check data. -
