I still remember being too broke to afford a Kanaxai's Edge, and trying to farm Vermin for days on end to get a q9 15^50.

No stupid questions. We don't have a clear answer. From the preview and the fact that it's going to be "Live" in 2 weeks time, I personally think it will just be enhancements to the existing game, in terms of better UI, Sound, HD from the comment on the video which says: " re-energized with system enhancements"

Who knows? Exciting nonetheless!

Basically, the game will be more beautiful and immersive, but still with the same flaws due to its age (no trading post, no bosses in the only elite zone that doesn't have any yet (follow my gaze), no improvements to VS bots in PvP (?) Hmm... should I be excited? Why the sentence?: Free to existing Guild Wars owners!

At this point , anything they are doing to improve and revise the game is a welcome addition, especially free of charge.

I agree with that too, but why, if it were free for everyone in the future, add: Free to existing Guild Wars owners! This would imply that it will not be free for future buyers after this update? Otherwise, why specify it? A communication/marketing error? Added to the store after December 3?

And ofc it won't be free for new players, they don't own the game and therefore need to buy the game. It's a base game update not an additional pack

In fact, the message should be in this case:

- No additional purchase required (or) free update (or) nothing.

But not: for players who have already purchased the game. This reminds me of the 20th anniversary update, with the picture of the TA outpost. It was removed afterwards because it was clumsy and had nothing to do with the update.

So, in the end, I think it was a communication error on their part to have expressed this message in these terms, and that it will be free for everyone.

Sounds like this small team of OG anet devs are committed to continuing on this path of updates to GW classic. No matter how minor the updates are, this is awesome news

That’s why SCW has been promoted to GW game director since early 2024. He was driving that small dev team 🎉
