How long have you been playing guild wars?

Started in may 2005. Came from diablo 2. Had grand plans to screen clear with skills like maelstrom thinking it was a massive aoe skill. Little did I know... My first character was a mesmer fast casting ele aoe dot spells. Anyone else remember having to get to outposts like maguuma stade for skills?

Bought it off the shelf at Best Buy sometime just after release. I was spending too much time on it and it was affecting my work in college so I soon got rid of the account. When I finished school I found someone selling a collectors edition account they weren't using anymore so I picked up that and it became my home. I stopped playing around 2011 and just recently got back into it some. Its nice to see the community never really died =)

Since when BWE were going on Feb 05 then went live in April 05.

I took an extended break but I'm back now

My main accnt is just over 16 yrs, my alt is 12ish.

I also had my first necro as on a spare char slot on a friend's account before that (That account was has proph preorder /bonus Canthan Targe, dunno exact accnt age). I didn't start playing on it until about 4 months b4 factions came out with my necro, and tested out his high levels. I then decided to buy my own copys of proph and then factions, etc as they came out and i had spare $.

So much lifetime...

The December 2004 beta weekend. I had a crappy old laptop that could barely run 3d games, but I still managed to create my first character and get into the game. Still have that old monk (recreated for launch of course). Bought a second account shortly after launch. Over 12k hours on both.

my original tyrian account is gone i used for few months, but this ive been using nearly since around fact release

Seems like my 3rd warrior is hitting 11k hrs today xD remade basically every character over the years atleast once heh

Bought the game from a garage sale back in 2008 or 2009, dude sold me the game with his account registered and left 1k to start, told me that was worth a lot (lol). I thought he scammed me because I got stuck in presearing for 2 months before realising I could leave into a bigger world... and find those 1000 gold in my Xunlai Chest

I then created my first ever character, a warrior, forgot his name, we had quite a journey... Stopped around 2012 because I was failing my schoolgrade, mainly because of my dedication to Guild Wars.

Came back in 2020 but with another account, couldn't remember my password's old account, I then bought a new one to enjoy Guild Wars once more !

Since the beta weekends! I have so many fond memories of bingeing until the servers went down at the end of the weekend.

Amazing times. Nothing really tops the Prophecies era for me due to the vibrant and active community, overall newness of the world and the great PvP in those days.

I started playing when it came out in 2005. I was 18 at the time. Now I'm 35. Life flies, it's kind of sad though tbh lol.

16 years. I started in 2006, just before the release of Guild Wars Nightfall. It has been an amazing journey.

I started several months after release was the first PC game I played, I quit 6 years ago when a player manipulated customer support an hijacked mine am many others inc gaile grays accounts still loadss ruined my account then became a father so put PC in the cupboard to collect dust only just been back a week it’s been good seeing some old names an faces.

I remember Ascalon ID1 Being the trade outpost. 🤣

August 2005, got it for my 14th birthday.

From 05-10 I played very little else really, since 2010 I play in spurts. Might be a month where I play a lot and do a bunch of stuff, other times I just login to check toon ages and maybe do a zaishen mission and leave.

I started playing GW when i went to my uncles house to repair his roof i walked in his living room an he was farming Jaga. i was like that looks cool an spent the next 3 hours watching him play. he seen i was into the game so he helped me get my 1st copy of GW. at this time was my uncle, his wife, my cousin, my wife, an myself playing along with a bunch of friends we made along the way. sad to say but eith most of them have passed on or we to GW2.

Started after faction release but before Nightfall. So maybe 2006 or 2007 I guess? Played Factions first, then got prophecies soon after and then Nightfall when it was released.

My first character was a warrior and he's still around today.

Kept playing till around 2012 or something like that, then I didn't play for around 10 years and just came back like a week ago.

The nostalgia was unreal.

As my main game? 2 years in June. I’m general? Since ~2010/11

2010-Current: Alt I started with new main in 2010 because why remake 1 GWAMM account when you can do 2 at the same time?

Maybe about 1/4 is afk time though.

I started with GW in 2006. First I bought Factions, then Prophecies in 2007 and Nightfall in the same year. GWEN also joined in 2007. I still have all activation cards

I was active in my first guild for years, eventually becoming an officer and finally even the leader. As life goes, I became inactive in GW and the guild also dispersed. Only one friend in a neighbouring country I'm still in touch with - I even went to his wedding this year.

But in 2021, a bit because of Corona, I realised that the game still exists. And I picked up where I left off.
