well now that we have the new old login screens, all thats missing is the old logo (or at least an option for it). the reforged logo looks really out of place and im already sick of it

Well.. Let's return to the topic at hand.

Update -- December 19, 2025

Hotfix #1

• Fixed an issue where a player could move the camera in some character select scenes that would leave the camera in an awkward position when switching back to the Prophecies pregame scene
• Fixed a bug where players would sometimes get flagged with Dishonor when entering Ascalon Academy
• Fixed a Reforged mode bug where some henchmen would become stuck in later Prophecies areas
• Adjusted item spawn rarities in Reforged mode
• Health and armor adjustments are no longer applied to pets, minions, and NPC's in pre-Searing
• Adjusted the spawn position coming out of Ashford Abbey to prevent some players in four-player parties from getting instantly teleported back
• Fixed an issue where some henchmen would not appear in your party when returning to an outpost in Reforged mode
• Account preferences updated more often on the server

Hotfix #2

• Fixed a client crash when logging out from certain maps with high graphics settings enabled, such as Doomlore Shrine

Oh no, I think it's outrageous that they dared to fix bugs, what a bunch of losers!

Bug??? BUG!!!???!!!

It *is* dishonorable to not just stay a perma pre... at least until you complete DhuumedReforgedLDoALegendarySurvivorofAscalon!

Good question, no mention on update of 18 december, just:

• Players gain 5% more experience and gold in the Prophecies campaign.

Edit: According to Reddit, they had more drops than normal, and this has been corrected.

I'll give my thoughts a post here since I'm bored and on the train

The badges and "new" content are anecdotal at best and are just about the extent of what 2weeks can contribute to the "Reforged hype" with no budget

Basically a nothing sandwich, I don't see it as a threat to the game I love nor as an improvement on the game I play every day

Also I believe we're getting too heated in here for no reason

There used to be a game of the year upgrade in the shop for accounts that do not have the imp and/or the bonus weapons. I do not see it anymore, was it removed or did it never exist? How are we supposed to add either to an existing account that did not have them???

So they just removed all bonus weapons entirely for acquisition????

Q: Will I receive the Bonus Items that were included in previous versions of Guild Wars if I purchase Guild Wars Reforged?

No.

Guild Wars Reforged does not include the Igneous Summoning Stone or bonus weapon bundle that was included with the purchase of previous versions of Guild Wars.

If you owned any campaigns for Guild Wars prior to Guild Wars Reforged, you will still have access to any Bonus Items included with your previously redeemed purchases by inputting the “/bonus” command in game. However, you will not receive the additional bonuses from campaigns included in the upgrade to Guild Wars Reforged that you had not purchased previously.

It existed. Dunno where it is now.

So Reforged is more of a version that has brought less, rather than more, to the store. There's still the price, but not necessarily, when you took advantage of discounts when buying the game in the store.

Note: for /bonus and imp, only if you buy EOTN now.

Maybe find a nice thing or two to say about reforged guys, its been non stop Debbie downer since launch from you two on this thread. Sure its not perfect, but atleast the game is getting more attention, and its something.

Im sure others feel your bitching has been obnoxious to say the least, and sure you try to justify it by calling yourself a spoiled brat neutral, but maybe you can do something about it? Maybe apply to be a dev at ANet Mr. Soapbox

While I disagree with Neutral on the shades of issues he brings up often, this mindset of "stop complaining and force yourself to say something positive about X" I just flat out reject.

If you're not satisfied with a product you paid money for AND you provide legitimate criticism (that can be wrong, but atleast other people can correct you, instead of saying "game bad") which I think that's what Neutral is doing, then the discussion can happen and the free market of idea can improve the situation.

I get the critiques, I do, it just appears from the get go he went into this whole thing with a preconceived notion of how it will end up. These two seem to be sour apples in general though and their disposition is bitter to say the least. Now I get some of the criticisms and some, if not most, are legitimate concerns, but I also think the incessant bitching and moaning becomes counter productive and down right sad.

This is alpha and beta phases so who knows. ill be pissed off too if they dont release piken to everybody but its too early to tell. Im just glad the game is getting some love and attention for now.

These are just hypotheses that I am writing down. I keep an open mind and listen to other people's points of view. Sometimes that can also change my mind.

But in any case, I repeat, criticize what I write, don't speculate about me or my personality without knowing me IRL. It's gratuitous, easy, useless, insulting, and doesn't advance the debate. I wouldn't allow myself to do that towards you.

Update -- January 7, 2026

• Fixed an issue where the title badges for Dhuum's Covenant and Reforged Mode were sometimes missing (or applied too early, before the first title rank was earned)
• Fixed a bug where getting drunk (in game!) caused an internal rendering buffer to clobber the visible graphics rendering buffer
• Fixed a long-standing bug where Wintersdays maps would s l o w down the longer they ran (this is why you might have seen a message that a district was unavailable)
• Fixed a bug where some players used a different random number generator than others, resulting in desyncs
• Fixed a bug where a player's territory wasn't always reported to the game server correctly
• Moved the location of inaccessible Charr Champions for the Vanguard Annihiliation: Charr quest when in Reforged mode
• Adjusted the max reverb delay when using OpenAL Soft to reduce the intensity of droning sounds in some areas
• Closed some previously open gates along The Great Northern Wall in the Northlands; fortunately, the Charr were not exploiting these

Following this logic, we would therefore have Melandru as a boss, a “plant woman” gender Malenia, Blade of Miquella (?) I know she's not a plant woman, but with the flowers and her charisma.

Melandru = Ironman

Update -- January 28, 2026

Today we're introducing another game mode for those of you looking for further challenges in Guild Wars.

• Melandru's Accord - A new mode that requires you to earn all the skills and items for your character without leveraging player trading, account storage, etc. This new mode is inspired by the community-driven Ironman challenge.
  • Specifically, you:
    • can't trade with other players,
    • can't pick up drops from other players,
    • can't access account storage via the Xunlai vault,
    • can't use skill tomes to train skills unlocked on the account,
    • can't use /bonus, /bonusitem, or /special,
    • can't access the Zaishen Menagerie,
    • can't access traders that buy and sell items from other players at market prices,
    • can only train skills available from the skill trainer (normally you can train skills already unlocked by another character on the same account from any trainer),
    • can't add mercenaries to your hero roster, and
    • heroes can only use their starter skills, skills learned from a trainer on the current character, or from a hero skill trainer.
  • You can be awesome.
• UI badge consolidation - Badges displayed next to character names (Reforged mode, Dhuum's Covenant, and Melandru's Accord) now stack on top of each other to take up less space. Hovering over them on another player will cause them to temporarily expand.
• Reforged mode: - We are bringing the early experience in Prophecies more in line with the early experience in Factions and Nightfall.
  • Reforged skill cost retuning - To make it easier to acquire more skills, we are lowering the skill cost progression curve by roughly half and lowering the cap to 500 gold.
  • Reforged mission XP tuning - Prophecies mission rewards are increased when playing in Reforged mode:
    • Mission completion reward: 2000xp, 200gp, 1sp
    • Bonus objective reward: 2000xp, 150gp, 1sp
    • (Hard mode mission completion reward has also been increased to 3000xp)
  • Reforged mission/quest gold rewards - Several Prophecies quests have had gold rewards added or increased when in Reforged mode
• Alpha/Beta feature localization - Translations from English to Korean, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Polish and Russian are now available for all in-progress features (Melandru's Accord, Dhuum's Covenant, and Reforged mode).
• Touch screen improvements - Touch-based scrolling is now supported for Steam Deck and laptops with touchscreens. Just touch a panel with a scroll bar visible and drag the contents up and down.

After that, I'm willing to do another level 1 with 0 XP Legendary Cartographer of Tyria (100%) with this badge as well, but hey, the third one is going to be tough

For information: In Melandru mode, it is impossible to create situations involving restrictions related to this badge. They are blocked. This is a definitive choice for your character.

Exciting. Time to start a new character, again.

Since the update, badges overlap and are not spaced apart ->

And if you target the player, the badges separate distinctly ->

(Tomorrow, my challenge will be to count my butt hairs).

I would have preferred to pay 5$ for my melandru dungeon DLC ...

Whats next ? Naked and alone mode : you can't put on armor and group with anyone including mercenaries and heroes

I have nothing to add to this discussion. I am just drunk and super duper excited about the possibility of having new meaningful content. I never expected to see this when I came back to GW 2 years ago
