I paid for 1 (€5.49) but got 2 credits to rename a character, meaning I could rename a character twice.

No chance. What's more, I checked that I could no longer rename a character before purchasing. And right after entering the code: 2 credits.

I believe this is just a ui glitch and you won’t be able to use both of them. Similar occurrence has happened to me in the past. Don’t remember which store product it was, but it corrected itself either on its own or after using one of them.
