They should have never dropped in the first place like triple mods in post or pre

Their focus is to increase new player base that keeps the game alive, active, and generating revenue and their current projects have nothing to do with new items.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love Varney to drop me some Echovalds with vs Charr, but that doesn’t seem an idea worth taking the time to wish for and certainly not on the dev’s minds’.

Yeah, judging by the drops they wanted exclusively Proph items. However, EotN already drops stuff originally from all 3 campaigns so it's not like it would be unprecedented to have a kinda-similar thing in the only Proph dungeon.
But I think what they probably did was dump all the Proph items in a database - regardless of origin or "rarity" or whatever - for the dungeon loot to pull from, which is how we ended up with the gold crytas. It was likely a function of what was easiest for them, and there probably wasn't a ton of thought involved. And along those lines, has anyone gotten a gold Ball Hammer yet?
