Community Collection Poster

For me, there's always been one item--above any others--which I hold special and closest to my heart. That is, of course, my Q9 20/20 Fire Celestial staff.

Although, strictly speaking, this was not my first OS fire item, it was the one which truly kindled my flame. I used to run a dungeon and mission running service and distinctly recall running numerous people through campaigns to raise the capital to afford this (450e, back then, a fortune). Following lengthy negotiations (and leveraging a promise of future purchases to the seller (Z Split)), I haggled the price down and was offered a choice of two staves, both with tumultuous histories. One had belonged to White Wasabi; the other, Tramp Ollin; both were notorious players for their own reasons. I chose Wasabi's, which had a higher gold value.

And, just like that, I was hooked and my collection was born.

For me, this has always been the most perfect item I have ever owned; not because it is the rarest or best, but because it sparked my passion for this game and its incredible community. I can safely say that without it, I would have quit long ago and probably never come back.

It goes without saying that my favorite item is my collection's cornerstone Echovald.

If I had to walk away from the game, this would be the one item I would walk away with.

Its not perfect

But i love it

It's definitely not the rarest or most valuable l have, but it is my first dv/dz item and it has sparked my collection.

I don't usually go check out Jade Bros chests when doing Vermin chests, but l'm really glad l did that day.

p.s. those two screens are the same item, just different ways of screenshotting. l prefer the second one, as it includes the skin.

For me it would be this one. I have a few more that I would consider un-sellable, but this is one of the first ones for me and still in use on my Necro.

No surprise here, either. It was my first such Clouded. The one I actually killed things with. The one I modeled my armor after (still looks great after all these years!). The one all the other ones wish they could be 😆

This item propelled my (practically) complete q8 15^50 dagger collection back in the prime days of the game.
Said collection has since been lost to the ages but the one that started it all won't leave my Sin's side.

If the game was burning down and I could only grab one item while fleeing the guild hall, it would have to be this one.

I appreciate so many different items for completely different reasons so this was hard. I like the way Captain Krompdown said it and this would be the one I'd grab if I could only save one. Great thread, cant wait to see the finished product!

Ranger was my first created toon in 2005.

The bow dropped as is. It'd be the one thing I'd grab.

Although some of my Zodiac Axes would cause me to pause for a moment.

Since im a staff guy, the only item fitting for this thread is a staff (: this special one started my prenerf staff collection and is still one of (i dont really like ranking my collections, i love all my things equally) my favourites. the amber staff, commonly rated 10/10

Just could not figure out what item to pick so I just decided to go for the first one that came to mind.

This is not the most valuable, nor among the oldest, of the items in my possession, but it is something I desired for years without knowing if I would ever see, let alone get to acquire:

A usable healing Wayward Wand to use as the main wand on my monk.

I love it, warts and all.

Had a hard time deciding between this and my q8 15^50 naga longbow, but in the end I use this more often and would probably miss it more.

Not as fancy as all your OS q8s and q7s but i got this one very early in my collection, gave me allot of motivation seeing something like this drop, so its one of my favs:

It's December, 2006, and one of my uncles has just introduced my 13 y/o self to a game called Guild Wars. Years earlier, the same uncle would introduce me to RPGs in general, my first exposure to them being Wild Arms and Final Fantasy VII. I have him to thank for my overall love of gaming.

I had never played an online game before, much less one like this. Starting out, he spared no expense to help me. From strolling through pre, to hiring runners to LA and Droks, to gifting me my first superior vigor rune. I vividly remember some of the more innocent moments of my early days - asking in a presearing town how to save my game before logging off the first night, for example. The world seemed so big, especially after leaving presearing for the first time. I was hooked.

My uncle would stay with the game for a few more months, but ultimately swap over to WoW. Being so young, I had no way to afford a subscription for it, so GW it was. I would stay with the game (and the franchise, when GW2 came out, for years). Slowly, my interest in GW1 rekindled. I would return to the game after a 7 year hiatus for the sequel. Coming back, I was flooded with the memories of years before, and the reason I was there at all. My uncle mained a fire ele, and always held a Lian's Lantern as his offhand of choice. (I remember my first time fighting this boss after getting factions. It didn't end well.) When I came back, I decided to look for more of these.

A few humble additions here and there, but one day, while strolling through Legacy, one in particular caught my eye. Several months later, I would join PhD, a wonderful in-game family, housing the best of what would otherwise be long lost memories. Kabong would gift me several of his lanterns, and while asking around, I'd come to learn the aforementioned eyecatcher was in our guild.

As MaxBorken said, there is perhaps a difference between my most precious item and my favorite item. My most precious would be the prenerf Lian's Lantern I have from my uncle's account.

But today, after consistent poking, I was able to acquire my favorite item. The most important version of this skin known to exist and a representation of rekindled joy from years prior. A passing of the torch, both literally and figuratively.

A million thanks to Expugnare for this treasure. It sits high above all others, shining its light for years to come.

Took some time to decide because I have so many items I love but finally settled on this crazy shield.

My one and only 8/16 shield (gold) ever dropped for me, and since I mainly did my luxon title in jade quarry with a monk/para playing a build with 8 command, it also was (and sometimes still is) very usefull, not only a collector item!

Since Cantha is where my heart is. i chose this cleaver

Played a lot with her through 2006 to 2008, now I'm not playing so much a sword warrior

I certainly have items with a much higher value, but this sword has been with me since 2007. It was a gift from a friend from PnH who unfortunately stopped playing GW quite early.
